A welcoming space for older adults to connect and enjoy exploring a range of Acting Techniques through Improvisation, Script Work and Play-Readings.
Spring course themed on War Poetry, to mark the centenary of World War 1.

BEGINNERS’ CALL - Wednesdays 10.30 am - 12 pm
For Over 18s, Beginner - Intermediate Level
A supportive space for adults to connect and build performance confidence, developing Acting Skills through Voice, Movement, Text and Improvisation.
Spring Course focus: Audition Technique and approaches to Short Scenes and Monologues.

For Over 18s, Confident - Experienced
A playful space for confident performers to connect and hone acting skills through a series of Master Classes.
Spring Course sessions on Voice, Shakespeare and Classical Text, Contemporary Text, Movement and Clowning.

Classes develop performance skills skills through a range of techniques tailored to the ability and interest of each group. In this 5-week short course, each class is built around a theme, culminating in a private sharing of participants’ work in the final week, plus an invitation that evening to see Progress Youth Theatre’s Poetry of War at the concessionary rate.
Rachel Mary is an Actor and Theatre Director, trained in both Classical and Contemporary Theatre and specialising in Shakespeare, Physical Theatre and Clowning. Based in Reading and Co-Director of our Youth Theatre here at Progress, Rachel is passionate about growing theatre locally and hopes the launch of the Adult Acting Studio will connect people across all backgrounds in Reading.
