Audition Masterclass
Tuesday 7th April, 9.30am - 4.30pm, and Wednesday 8th April, 9.30am - 7.30pm
Auditions can be a daunting experience; that’s why we are offering young actors a two-day masterclass to build confidence, advance theatrical skill, and aid audition preparation. Participants will prepare a contemporary monologue in advance of the workshops and together, we will develop the presentation of this and begin work on a contrasting monologue suggested by the tutor. Additionally, mock-audition workshops will involve improvisation exercises and group devising tasks, providing the opportunity to explore and experiment in a supportive creative environment. In these relaxed and engaging sessions, participants (from school years 10-13) with any level of experience can enjoy developing their acting skills, preparing for auditions, and making friends! This valuable experience will culminate in an informal sharing for family and friends on the Wednesday evening.
A Play in Two Days
Thursday 9th April, 9.30am - 4.30pm, and Friday 10th April, 9.30am - 7.30pm
Join the easter play in two days workshop and enjoy drama games, improvisation and a chance to be part of a performance.
Synopsis of performance - A group of friends attend an easter camp but are all distracted and struggle to settle in. Each child finds a flower while out exploring that forces them to confront emotions they have been avoiding. Sam finds an Iris flower and begins to open up about the new journey they face. Robin finds a Bleeding-Heart flower and admits their love for another. Blake finds a Bluebell and shares their secret for the first time. And lastly Charlie finds a Daffodil and decides to change their ways before returning home. Together the children build bonds and overcome challenges, leaving camp stronger and braver for what comes next.
