A Play in a Week

In August 2024, PYT will be opening up our "A Play In A Week" workshops to two age ranges.  These will be led by our highly experienced Youth Theatre Facilitators.

Across the week, students will workshop and learn a play to perform on the Friday evening for friends and family.

There is a discount for existing PYT members and for anyone who signs up for the PYT Autumn term before 30th September 2024 (in this case, the discount will be applied to the fees in the autumn term.)

5th - 9th August - 7 - 13 Year Olds

Theatre makers from School years 3 - 8 (approx 7 - 13 years old) will focus on creating a devised performance from scratch. This will include character development, improvisation skills, rehearsal techniques and how to construct the final piece. It will give each child the chance to have a voice and build confidence as well as developing performance skills. We actively encourage creative ambition and nurture a friendly and supportive atmosphere as part of our practice. Family and friends are also invited to attend the final performance on Friday evening.

 

12th -16th August - 13 -18 Year Olds

Theatre makers from school years 9 – 13 (Approx 13 - 18 years old) will work collaboratively to stage a production in five days. Each day will consist of theatre games and acting exercises which will complement our dynamic rehearsal process. This exciting opportunity will develop skills in performance technique and textual analysis, as well as building confidence. We welcome young people with an interest in theatre, of any level of experience, who would like to learn, create, and perform! Family and friends are also invited to attend the final performance on Friday evening.
